Alioom - AI as a native speaker
A voice-controlled app concept that helps you create language habits and overcome resistance to speaking
Why did we create the Alioom concept?
The latest technological trends show that customers expect much more from the digital world than just visual and voice entertainment. We want more realistic interactions with every digital object and personality, including educational apps.
Context of the project
Traditional language learning applications have some limitations that affect our experience and make it difficult to fully engage with the whole process. A narrow subject area limits our vocabulary, and repetitive exercises make it difficult to engage in learning. Most importantly, however, dictionary-based applications pay little attention to pronunciation and are completely devoid of feedback. The solution may be to speak with a native speaker, which will be an engaging experience and help us make a breakthrough in speaking a foreign language. But... only some users decide to take this step.
Why?
Winter has successfully designed a new design for our site that both improves and simplifies the UX of our platform.
The Zima team is efficient and focused on accomplishing its tasks.
For whom?
Recognize users of language learning applications, their habits and expectations. Who is our persona? Who most often learns the language on the phone?
What?
Analysis of market solutions to outline the concept. Look at the available technologies and find a new solution that meets the needs of the user.
In what way?
Gathering the concept and functionality into an easy to use voice interface. Design the interaction and user experience with the application.

info
Rita is a student who wants to improve her language skills, especially in English. She doesn't use the app with live native speakers because she thinks it's too expensive and interferes with her school schedule. Rita has an intermediate level of English and wants to continue developing her skills. At the same time, he feels insecure speaking English with other people.

Innovation in everyday language learning is necessary
In the Alioom project, we have taken the futuristic concept of a fluid conversation with AI that we believe is feasible at any time. We are already using voice assistants that learn to communicate better with users.
The younger generations are bluntly saying that the traditional method of teaching a language by reading and repeating does not work for them. They need more engaging experiences and a hands-on view of learning. Therefore, when designing the interface in Ailoom, we decided to eliminate unnecessary elements and focus on the conversation itself.

contactless operation.
We wanted to approach the interface as a natural interaction field, not a clickable area. In conversation we use our voice, so it is logical that it is what we want to control in an application like Alioom. Colors derived from id brand
The main accent is based on the cornflower color, derived from the customer's brand. Complementary colors are blue, gray, and black for texts.- We avoid stock graphics, we use real photos provided by the customer. Photos are additionally distinguished by monochrome styling.
Visual reflection of the interaction with the application
required careful analysis and design dexterity. But the effect was worth the effort!
Branding
Training AI as a language teacher certainly requires further development of this technology. We look forward to the future, hoping that one day Alioom will hit the market as an innovative language learning tool. We would definitely use it;)
